I found my treatment at Queens hospital, very good.
And that’s why I gave a high score.
The day I needed to go to A&E, there was a doctors strike. Everyone from the volunteers to the nurses and doctors were fantastic. They had emergencies come in which left 1 doctor. Yes, I spent nearly 11 hours there, but I carnot fault anyone. So thankful to have this great service on my doorstep.
Spent three hours in a corridor before being found a bay in A&E.
For the most part I was ignored and the concern was to get me out of there. It was the junior doctors strike. I wanted help to manage the pain I was in and got little help.
The lady doctor that saw me was truly amazing , she explained everything very well.
Arrived at A&E with heart attack simptoms , they got a blood sample to check the trompine and after 8 hours they told me the sample was lost . I chased them three times in these 8 hours and always asked how was my blood test as that could ve told me if it was a heart attack and they said I need to wait they didn t bother to check. The consultant didn t check and had no clue about the fact I had a Xray done the same night as well. In a final I had to leave as I was very very tired, they got the second blood sampl but they did not sent the results to the GP by now neither the Xray.
Arrived at 5:45pm assesed quickly then waited over 7 hours for an ECG and to be seen by doctor. Once in A&E was not seen by anyone until consultant came for us at 12 midnight who was very apologetic and apologised for delay. Would have been a better experience if someone had come and checked on all in A&E even with an apology for the waiting time or just a kind gesture of how everyone was doing and where to find water and toilets. Drunks sitting with elderly patients and not moved on even though was annoying people! No comfortable chairs offered to my elderly mum even though some looked available. No care or kindness shown while we waited. Not updated at all. People were told if they didn’t like the wait they could leave! I was accompanying my mother but helped others sitting in waiting room to get water and find chairs. Consultant amazing and very empathetic- shame about experience in waiting area!
All the hospital staff at Queens looked after my elderly mum really well. They checked over her thoroughly and kept up regular temp & bp checks. She felt very safe at all times.
Doctor give me updates on my progress, need more investigations, regarding my heart to see if my gallbladder can come out, if not not sure what they are going to do
The most horrible experience of my life after 3 days in Major's A I wanted to die I was suicidal apart from receiving blood I felt that the place was overwhelmed. On the morning of my forth day I was sitting on my bed sobbing when the night manager saw me he got me moved straight away as a plus one in Sunrise A. There were so many people that could of been dealt with my a minor injury clinic. The staff were trying their hardest but we're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of patients & families.
